Shorter stopping distances and less fade are easy to achieve

Being able to confidently step on the brakes and know that they will react predictably is the key to making fast progress, whether on the road or the track. The problem comes when the modifications to your car begin to overload the standard braking system. This leads to an unreliable braking system that cannot be relied upon and inevitably forces you to drive slower.

The problem with factory brakes

Most standard braking systems for production cars have a single piston brake with either a fixed or a floating calliper. When the brake pedal is pressed the piston forces the pads against the calliper as shown below;

The problem with these single piston systems is that they can only exert force on a limited area of the rotor surface therefore limiting braking performance. These brakes also do not dissipate heat very well and fade quickly after extended periods of hard braking. The rotors themselves can also be part of the problem as they are generally solid and have a completely flat surface that does not allow for proper ventilation which increases the heat and fade.

The solution

The solution to these braking problems lies in replacing the problem parts, namely the calliper and the rotor. Big brake kits are readily available that promise to improve the braking power of your car, one such supplier is K-Sport who have built an incredible reputation for providing the ultimate in stopping power.

K-Sport

Here at Just Performance we stock a wide range of K-Sport brakes and big break conversion kits that can vastly improve the braking performance of your car. These kits come with everything you need including;

► Pair of Calipers
► Pair of stainless steel brake lines
► Roters built up onto aliminium bells
► Carbon steel brackets
► Pair of discs
► Install kit
► Fittting guide

Why are they so good?

The rotor, the calliper and the brake pad are increased in size, more braking power and surface translates directly into more braking power and therefore shorter stopping distances. With grooved and drilled discs and up to 8 pot callipers K-Sport brakes resist fade far better than standard brakes as heat dissipates far more easily. This lack of fade means that you will be able to step onto the brake pedal fully confident that your brakes will react in the exact same way time and time again.
